The first combined Operation was with Whiskey 2, where we walked to their lines,
boarded APCs and did a short clearing task in the Horseshoe area.

The main body of the 6th Royal Australian Regiment (6 RAR), arrived in Vung Tau on the 18th May,
1969 and were then airlifted to Nui Dat.

On the 21st May, the three Australian Infantry Companys (A, B and D) and the two NZ Infantry
Companys (W2 and V4), became part of 6 RAR.

The Kiwis were referred to by the Aussies as W and V Company.

We were now operating as an ANZAC Rifle Battalion under the formal title of  6 RAR/NZ (ANZAC) BATTALION.
